SLM Toyota Hastings Support Smudger's Charity Golf Day

SLM Toyota Hastings had a great day at Highwoods Golf Club whilst supporting local charities.

• Here at SLM Toyota Hastings we recently helped support Smudger's Charity Golf Day, held at Highwoods Golf Club on Friday 27th July.

  The event was run by Darren Smith, who approached us and asked whether we would like to support the event and we were delighted to be able to help.
  
  This year's event was raising money for Dragonflies Bereavement Charity, who looked after Darren's brother's three young children after he died in a motorbike accident in 2007. Money was also raised for Dom's Food Mission, which is another local charity who help to feed young children and the homeless.

  There were 84 players taking part on the 18-hole course and there was also a Charity Auction hosted by local comedian Adger Brown. We had our Toyota GT86 Coupe on display during the event to show our support, which many competitors enjoyed taking a closer look at throughout the day. We also donated a weekend test drive in the model as a raffle prize.
  
  We are very happy to confirm that the day became the most successful Smudger's Charity event to date, raising over £7,000 to be shared between the two charities. Darren commented, "I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who took part and to SLM Toyota for sponsoring a hole and also providing a Toyota GT86 for the weekend as a raffle prize which was won by Peter Heritage."
  
  Everyone at the dealership is extremely pleased to have been involved in such a brilliant event and have been able to raise money for some excellent local charities. Thank you to Darren for having us and to everyone who took part!
